FREE TO OBEY: A DISCUSSION ON LAW AND GRACE, BASED ON THE NEW TESTAMENT BOOKS OF ROMANS AND GALATIANS is a short companion piece to The River of Grace and further discusses God’s universal moral law communicated via subtle energy and the more detailed moral laws communicated via the writings of Moses in the Bible.
Through the gracious gift of God, we can place our faith in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and receive pardon and forgiveness for our disobedience of the moral laws. The gift of salvation brings God’s Holy Spirit into our human spirit. The Holy Spirit has the grace and strength we need to help us obey the universal and written moral laws.
Key Excerpts:
“This strength to obey is a gracious gift that God gives to us. Through His gift of grace we can strive to obey God’s moral and ethical commandments. Through the gift of God’s grace we can both believe—and thus receive His forgiveness of sins—and then obey His commandments. Through Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit, we are no longer ‘under the law.’ We are up on our feet, as it were, and able, finally, to obey the law’s requirements.”
“Though we have no excuse to not obey, we do, however, still have a choice as to whether we will obey and have the strength to obey. The presence of the Holy Spirit within our human spirit does not take away our free will to choose what we will do.”
