When a group of people gather together to worship “Jesus Christ,” Who are they worshiping? Who is Jesus Christ?

The Bible says that approximately two thousand years ago in the land of Israel, God chooses a young Jewish virgin named Mary, and through the flow of the Holy Spirit God implants a part of Himself into her. Mary conceives from God’s implanted seed and bears and gives birth to a male child, Who we call “Jesus.”

Jesus is a unique combination—a mingling—of human (including human personality) and God. He is the God/man. He is human mingled with the divine.

Jesus is not merely God-in-a-box—God’s using the human body as an exterior box or frame. Jesus is a mingling. Never since then has there been another human who is God, and never before that moment of conception in Mary’s womb is there a "Son" of God.

Jesus shows us that human life is beautiful when lived the right way. He demonstrates a full range human emotions, thoughts, and desires. He always reacts the right way and chooses to do the right thing. Jesus obeys all the commandments of the law and does everything that God His Father wants Him to do.

Apparently, Jesus has the capacity to decide whether or not He will obey. The Bible emphasizes that Jesus repeatedly makes the decision to obey. Through His obedience, Jesus is perfect, and in this perfect condition He can offer His life as a sacrifice to pay the penalty imposed on the disobedient humans.

Three days after His death, Jesus rises from the dead. Forty days later He leaves the earth to go be with His Father. As He leaves, angels deliver the promise that someday He will return.
